There is a touch of exoticism present on the essence of pear and lemon rind-scented nose that displays wisps of lychee and mandarin orange peel. The succulent and concentrated big-bodied flavors possess excellent punch and power while coating the palate with sap on the stony, saline and lingering finish that isn't quite as dry. This too is very good though today the Caillerets is ever-so-slightly more complex. - BH

Younger vines planted in 2000 but for Thierry this is a top terroir. This is poised and balanced, but quite fat at the back. White fruit again, with a sense of class throughout, but does not quite deliver the excitement of Grande Montagne or the power of La Romanée today. It should get there though. - JM
