Reviews & Scores
Tasted blind, the 2015 Meursault 1er Cru Porusots reveals an attractive bouquet of green orchard fruit, white flowers and hazelnut cream. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, with a satiny attack, chewy extract and tangy balancing acids. It's a definite success. (WK) - WA

Firm reduction blocks an evaluation of the nose today. On the plus side there is equally good richness and power to the big-bodied flavors though the supporting acidity is slightly firmer plus the mouth feel of the impressively persistent finish is a bit finer. This is not exactly a classically style Porusots but it is still very clearly built-to-age and unlike most of the preceding wines, this big boy is going to need at least a few years of cellaring first. *Outstanding* - BH

A note of musky reduction to the cooler aromas of nectarine, crushed stone and hazelnut. Then surprisingly silky and suave but tight and high-pitched in the mouth, with its stone fruit flavors conveying a distinctly dry impression and solid underlying structure. This sexy but backward wine will benefit from some aeration at the bottling and has the structure to age. This was actually the last premier cru vineyard picked in 2016 because the fruit here ripens later. The vibrant, tongue-dusting finish shows a lightly saline quality. (ST) - VM

The Poruzots is one of the last of Dominique Lafon's premier crus to ripen, and it has produced a lovely wine in 2015. A cool bouquet of ripe citrus, pear, iodine and hazelnuts is followed by a deep, full-bodied palate with great tension and mineral drive on the palate, even in this warm year. (WK) - DC
