Reviews & Scores
A highly complex citrus-infused nose is composed by mostly honeysuckle and lilac notes that are trimmed in a discreet application of oak along with a hint of sulfur. There is strikingly good purity to the powerful, focused and detailed medium-bodied flavors that possess excellent size and weight plus plenty of dry extract that coats the palate on the vibrant, persistent, citrusy and notably firm finish that seems to be built on a base of minerality. This should repay at least a decade of cellar time yet at the same time it should be approachable after only 5 to 7 years. - BH

Two small barrels, 350 litres. PY buys by multiples of 18 cases of fruit to make his 350 litres. Very calcaire. Lovely texture and liveliness, a real ballerina. Beautiful structure. Not much on the nose today. Gorgeous though, and very finely etched. - JR

Bright green-tinged yellow. Lemon, lime, licorice and crushed stone on the nose. Concentrated and sweet but juicy too, showing less fat and exotic ripeness than the Batard. Comes across as higher in acidity, but that's partly due to the wine's firm underlying minerality. In its exhilarating sugar/acid balance, this wine reminded me of the Meursault Perrieres. (Colin made only a single barrel of Corton-Charlemagne in 2013 and it was in the middle of its malolactic fermentation at the time of my visit.) - VM
